This isn’t a typical photo session.

I’m capturing your breath, your heartbeat, your dreams, wishes and desires on film.
Connect with your truth. Come back home to yourself.

This is the pulse of the planet.

Capturing Breath on Film

“Some of my most transcendent experiences were in front of Catherine’s camera.” -Danielle Laporte

Come back home to yourself.

I’m curious about what’s happening in your life right now that matters to you.
What you’re wanting to let go of - what you’re wanting to bring in - the intentions you have moving forward in your life.

If it feels right, I’ll ask you to write these things out for yourself before we meet. I’ll invite you to write a letter to yourself about what this session or this time in your life means to you. Some write a love letter to themselves. Others bring a bullet point list of things they are letting go & bringing in. This isn’t something I see. It’s just for you to have. Maybe you’ll put it in your pocket or have it under my camera during the session. This is optional, but can be a powerful way to be intentional and connected with yourself.

On the day of your session, you are not having to “perform” for the camera.
We connect. There’s room service if we meet in a sexy hotel in Paris. We’re having tea together if we meet at my home in the Hollywood Hills. We’re sharing charcuterie if we meet in London at my airbnb. This is about presence and connection. Not hair and make up.

I use a variety of cameras depending on what feels intuitive in the moment.

I always use my 4×5 film camera and often use a stack of books instead of a tripod.
The books you choose based on who has influenced you the most. Bring those with you if that’s easy. I always have Camille Claudel at the top of the stack.

This is all experimental - not formulaic. What happens is based on the present moment and what we both choose to do. I feel this is the most honest way to find the truth about who you are - not your exterior - but your interior.

Film processing and scanning can take 7-10 business days.
Anything digital will arrive in 3 business days.

“This was about the right to exist and be seen. This isn’t just about beautiful photos, though it is: it’s about seeing your own power and being in your body and claiming your space in this world. It’s worth every penny and more.”

“To be frank? There are no words that truly do the magic of Catherine's work justice. To say she sees people in all their beauty is like saying the moon moves the sea. Catherine's work is transcendent. She's an artist. Not a portrait photographer. Her mission is to see your essence, and to capture it in all of it's beauty. For two years I've trusted her with my voice and my soul in her lens, and those two years have turned my business into the one I see today. She sees me, and in seeing me, I see myself. All of me. All of the potential, the joy, the movement, the raw energy. She's a soul alchemist. Her medium is photography. Hire her. You will not be disappointed.” - M.

At 18, newly sober from meth addiction, I picked up a camera and turned my pain into visual poetry.
It saved my life.

Three decades later, my work is rooted in creative expression, Toltec wisdom, somatic practice, and a lifetime of seeing what isn’t said - what lives between the words.

When I look through the lens, I’m not looking for an image. I’m listening for truth. I use a Large Format film Camera, Polaroid, and a medium format Rolleiflex camera. I love the slow meditative process of using film with the instant gratification of Polaroid and the look and feel of both.

I exhibit my art internationally, offer photo sessions globally and teach courses online.

*Favorite thing: I’m the proud single mama of my son Max who has Down syndrome.
