What if your camera became a portal?

To your inner world.
To your truth.
To the work you were always meant to make.

You’re not here to just take pretty pictures.
You’re here to tell the story beneath the surface.
To photograph what can’t be said.
To make the invisible, visible.

The Deepening

A mentorship program for *photographers who want to create emotionally resonant, conceptually powerful, gallery-worthy work
and finish a cohesive body of art they’re proud to share with the world.

Guidance, vision, and momentum for the art only you can make

How It Works

This is not a technical class. It is a deepening — a way of seeing and creating through your lens that draws you closer to your own truth.

This group mentorship is designed to move you out of stagnation and into an inspired, confident forward motion. Here, you’ll create work that is unmistakably yours — work that rises directly from what matters most to you. The camera becomes more than a tool for making beautiful images; it becomes a way of translating meaning.

Perhaps you already love photographing landscapes or sunsets. Here, those same images take on layered symbolic and metaphorical depth. They become vessels for your own inner terrain — a visual language as much about what’s felt as what’s seen. The result is a kind of visual poetry that anchors you more fully in who you are, and in turn, draws in those who recognize themselves in the medicine only your photographs can hold.

We begin each session with grounding breathwork, followed by future writing and a weekly action — a tangible step toward the creative life you envision. From there, we take the pulse of what’s present. As an intuitive seer of the unsaid, I guide the conversation toward unspoken truths, bringing to the surface what’s ready to be released so you can deepen your connection to your own creative power. Our time together unfolds in real time, alive and responsive, meeting what is most needed in the moment.

As the weeks progress, you’ll develop not only a complete photographic series, but a stronger, more embodied sense of yourself as an artist.

In 12 weeks, you’ll leave with a solid body of work and a renewed creative momentum. In 24 weeks, you’ll expand that work into a larger, more fully realized series, write your artist’s statement and bio, re-enter the world of juried online exhibitions, and refine your edits into a cohesive collection — culminating in a curated online group exhibition on my website.

About Catherine:

Catherine Just is a visual artist and photographer whose work explores what we see—and what we sense. Through photography and mixed media, she gives form to what’s often unspoken: the emotional landscapes of love, loss, connection, and desire.

Sober since the age of 18, Catherine now celebrates 38 years of continuous sobriety. Her creative practice is rooted in transformation and lived truth. She holds a BFA in Conceptual Photography, apprenticed with Miguel Ruiz, Toltec Master and author of The Four Agreements. She weaves all of this into everything she does. She’s also certified in “the Trauma of Money” process and in Subconscious Reprogramming Techniques that help support people in releasing old beliefs and disrupting patterns while creating new more abundant lives.

Her work has been featured on the cover of National Geographic Magazine, in O Magazine, and exhibited internationally including galleries in Paris, Milan, Los Angeles, The South of France.

Catherine leads online courses, offers photography sessions internationally and holds retreats in France that help women become more embodied, confident and fully self-expressed. She’s part of the teaching faculty at the Los Angeles Center of Photography and at the Trauma of Money Certification program.

She’s the single (co-parenting) mother of Max, her 16-year-old son with Down syndrome, and together they make work that re-imagines inclusion through love, art, and visibility.
