In a world that wants us all to believe there’s something to fix - this is a subtle shift in your attention from what’s so-called “wrong” to what’s going right.

Our thoughts love to get on the negative story telling train. It’s so easy to fall into believing that we haven’t done anything with our lives - or certainly not enough - or that we’re too old now to reach our dreams - or that we’re just not all that talented or interesting or fill in the version your mind likes to tell you.

It’s a lifelong journey back to ourselves. One decision at a time.

Detaching from thoughts that don’t serve is isn’t easy. Having reminders around us can help disrupt the pattern and shift toward new choices - new thoughts - more love.



The back story:

I’ve carried these three flowers with me for more than 30 years.

When I was 24 years old and six years sober, I bought a copy of Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. Sometime that year, I pressed three flowers between its pages.

That book - and those flowers - traveled with me from Minneapolis to Ashland, Portland, San Diego, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, and back to Los Angeles.

They’ve been quietly tucked inside those pages through more than three decades of my recovery.

To celebrate 39 years sober, I took them out and made this one-of-a-kind cyanotype.

It’s a love letter to the younger version of me who believed she had to earn love.

NMFW is what I know now:

There is nothing to prove.
Not even to myself.

I love myself No Matter F*ing What.

The original cyanotype is one of a kind, but I decided to scan it and create a limited edition of just 18 archival prints, signed, numbered and dated by me.

Each will have a white border for easy matting and framing. I’ll be making the prints in early September and mailing them shortly afterward.
